Terry McKeon
Executive Director, Avidd Community Services of NJ

Terry McKeon earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education at Dominican College and a Masters in Education at Boston College, specializing in education for children who are Deaf and Blind. Prior to his higher education training, Terry provided overnight camping experiences to Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled children and adults who were living in New York State Developmental Centers just at the beginning of the movement that emphasized the importance of community-based services.

After graduating, Terry worked at HeartShare Human Services in Brooklyn as Executive Vice- President for 20 years, expanding its Residential, Adult Day Program and Early Childhood Services. In 2002 Terry became Executive Director of Avidd Community Services in Denville, New Jersey and extensively expanded its programs as well and built a reputation of providing high quality services in 4 Northern New Jersey counties. Terry also recently managed the affiliation of Bethel Ridge Corporation with Avidd.

Terry has served on NJACP’s Board of Directors since 2013 and has held the positions of Secretary, Treasurer and now Vice-President as well as a Co-Chair of the Member Resources Committee
