NJACP appreciates the invitation to the grand opening of Woods Primary and Behavioral Health Center at Hamilton in partnership with RWJ Barnabas Health and congratulates NJACP member Woods System of Care and President and CEO Tine-Hanson Turton, for their collaborative effort to address a significant need for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). NJACP Director of Government Relations and Communications, Maureen Shea, had the opportunity to tour the center, the first in the area to offer integrated primary care and behavioral health serving the needs of individuals living with IDD and persons with complex needs. The clinic is built on the successful model delivered by NCQA-recognized Medical Center at Woods in Langhorne, PA, that has shown unnecessary ER visits and hospitalizations can be reduced while improving the quality of care.

The opening was marked by the attendance of “dignitaries” and speakers, along with refreshments as well as tours of the facility. The tour demonstrated the adaptive equipment and discussed the physicians with extensive experience that will be available in an integrated way to individuals with IDD, providing a positive and enhanced experience.

Thank you again to Tine and Mike Haggerty, the CEO of Allies, Inc. in Trenton, NJ, an affiliate of Woods System of Care for their innovation. The facility is amazing and fulfils a needed service in the community, as it continues to be challenging to find behavioral healthcare, as well as medical care in the community. Best wishes for a successful path serving individuals and meeting complex needs.
